"Compassion is never more important — or more difficult — than in disaster situations. Disasters trigger a deep sense of vulnerability. In the face of sudden, profound loss, we experience grief, disorientation, and disbelief. All that we had leaned on and taken for granted is stripped away. Structures and routines that provided meaning no longer support us. In such moments, we depend on the compassion of others." The above description was precisely what I experienced when seeking a small storage unit needed ASAP to house the few items I was able to salvage after my apartment and all of its furnishings & belongings were lost to Hurricane Ian's water surge. Thankfully I can stay with my aunt in Naples while I regroup and wait for my apartment to be gutted and reconstructed. Cassondra...with all that she had to deal with on the day I arrived, she was cordial, helpful, accommodating, and most appreciatively kind. Ever since my move to Florida over 20 years ago from Manhattan (NYC) I have always had storage units... BUT never before had I experienced the caliber of customer service, facility administration, and its management as I did at this particular CubeSmart Naples office. I can also attest to the same level of professionalism provided by Adam. Kudos to CubeSmart HR Department for having such outstanding personnel on board to afford their clients the optimum in service. Compassionate leadership combines leadership skills with empathy. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “To handle yourself, use your head. To handle others, use your heart.” Compassionate leaders lead and manage with both their head and their heart.
